At Reliance Architecture, designing schools isn’t just part of what we do—it’s work we care deeply about. Based in Central Texas, we partner with school districts to create learning environments that work for students, support educators, and reflect the community’s values.
Our approach is rooted in listening and collaboration. We work closely with administrators, teachers, maintenance staff, and community stakeholders to design spaces that are engaging, adaptable, and built to last. From kindergarten classrooms to high school science labs, athletic facilities, and outdoor learning areas, every design is shaped by your district’s goals, budget, and long-term vision.
We don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all.” Our team —led by licensed and professional architects—guides each project from needs assessment to engineering, through construction, ensuring alignment at every step. That means thorough programming, schematic design that’s easy to visualize, productive stakeholder workshops, and phased implementation that respects schedules and minimizes disruption.
Our portfolio includes new campuses, major renovations, campus expansions, and specialized facilities like STEM labs, performing arts centers, and secure, welcoming entryways. We design with safety, accessibility, and sustainability in mind—balancing durability and efficiency with spaces that inspire and support growth for decades to come.
Let’s design a school that works as hard for your students as you do.

K-12 Projects
We have extensive experience designing educational buildings that incorporate the evolving needs of students and educators. Our projects span new school construction, campus expansions, K-12 renovations, and specialized facilities like STEM labs, performing arts centers, and athletic facilities. The community, district goals, safety standards, and your students shape every design project. Projects begin with early schematic designs and come to life in the construction phase. Our K-12 Texas architects tailor every project to reflect the needs of the school with creativity, practical design strategies, and sustainability that support future-ready schools and long-term growth.

Thrall ISD New Elementary School

With new residents and industry moving to the area, Thrall ISD has started to see the beginnings of community growth and is anticipating much more in the future. We worked with district and campus leadership to design a new elementary school for up to 600 students, built around a central circulation hub with a cafeteria, learning stairs, gymnasium, library, and art/music classrooms. Indoor and outdoor group learning spaces and modern playscapes were included, with added planning for incoming students from surrounding areas.

Yorktown ISD Elementary School Renovation & Addition

The district had underutilized facilities, and the elementary school was in such bad condition that the community asked that it be demolished. Through client engagement, we developed concept plans vetted with staff, administration, and the school board. We converted the existing junior high into an elementary school with a new addition and complete renovations. The former elementary site became a staff/student parking lot, replacing street parking. Access controls and secure entries were added across district facilities.

Taylor ISD Legacy Early High College High School

Taylor Legacy Early College High School in Taylor, Texas, was designed as a dedicated campus for students who are dually enrolled in both high school and college courses, earning an associate’s degree upon graduation. We created a modern facility that respects the historic character of downtown Taylor while supporting the needs of an early college program. The building includes classrooms, a science lab, administrative offices, and a flexible campus commons, with spaces for group work and independent study. An adjoining courtyard encourages connection and outdoor learning.

Thrall ISD New High School

The previous high school and district campuses were loosely connected, and new roads were added as part of this project to address traffic issues. The community also wanted spaces that could support community use, so the design includes large open areas for gatherings and events. The new facility features instructional classrooms, science labs, a modern library with a technology hub, a cafetorium, and a gymnasium connected to a public-use outdoor pavilion that links to the Career and Technology Facility. For the 2022 bond, we returned to add an English language arts center, specialized CTE classrooms and labs, and a student-run spirit store.
