"His detailed approach, knowledge of school issues, and ability to problem solve and implement solutions led to a great balance of value & aesthetics."
Delores Warnell
Frm. Superintendent, Bloomington ISD
McDade ISD’s Transportation Facility represents the first built step in a long-range plan to support the district’s future growth on a constrained, landlocked campus. Reliance Architecture worked with the district through facility assessments, master planning, bond planning, budgeting, design, and construction administration to help define what could be accomplished within limited site area and available funding.
The work began with a broader master planning effort that studied how the district could expand over time, including future primary and secondary school improvements. From that planning process, infrastructure and transportation needs emerged as the logical first phase. Reliance helped develop phasing, cost estimates, conceptual graphics, flyers, and community-facing materials that supported McDade ISD’s successful $5.3 million bond (the district’s first bond passage in many years) which included funding for land acquisition, septic infrastructure, and the new transportation facility.
The completed facility provides two maintenance bays, an office, restroom, general-use room, storage, and supporting septic infrastructure. Site improvements include bus and vehicle parking, secured parking behind fencing, operable gates, paving, and circulation designed to make better use of the district’s limited site. Practical, durable, and intentionally phased, the project gives McDade ISD an immediate operations upgrade while establishing infrastructure for future campus growth.
